t-jpc251JPC 251This is an authentic WWII poster printed in 1944 featuring a wonderfully graphic illustration by very well listed illustrator and genre painter James R. Bingham (1917-1971). The poster features an iconic rendering of an American soldier gritting his teeth with his eyes pointed downward at an illustration of Japan. At the lower right corner in yellow letters the poster reads 6th War Loan, and at the top in bright red letters, the style of which lends itself to comic book illustration typography, reads NEXT! To the left of the soldier's head is an image of an atom bomb, or perhaps just a more generic bomb, dropping onto the Japanese rising sun flag. Along the bottom margin of the poster reads the following text US Government Printing Office : 1944-O-610930 Official US Treasury Poster WFD 958. In excellent condition with just some light folds and some light writing on bottom edge in pencil. Measures 10 x 14 inches. M
