1911 GERMAN SOUTH WEST AFRICA Military Photographs Album. This is an important original photograph album credited to an Emil Speer recording his time in the German Military Forces in South West Africa from 1908-1911, one of the photos is dated 1912, another 1908. Emil had the covers printed with the title “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit beim Pferdedepot Sud S.W. Afrika Weihnachten 1911” Emil Speer Photographer. This roughly translates as “Emil Speer photographs as a reminder of my service time in the Sud S.W. Africa Christmas 1911”.

Le Scott October 1895. Of the 78 photos, 63 of them are stuck in the album, with a further 15 that are loose. The loose ones are captioned on the reverse, and a couple of photos that are stuck in the album, though slightly loose, I can see that those are also captioned on the reverse, so it maybe that all or many of the photos may also be captioned on the reverse. Very rare to find anything from German South West Africa.
