French cheese brand la Vache Qui Rit is popular throughout Europe and elsewehere. Produced in Belgium as well, in the 1950's, to commemorate the King's visit to the Belgian Congo, the company produced a set of circular cards, one of which was contained in each box, on the Belgian Congo. These circular cards had three foldable flaps enabling them to fit into a diorama of a Congo setting. There were 210 cards issued. Over the last 10 years I have been able to locate 188 pieces. Many different themes are covered. The study of La Vache Qui Rit is an interesting subject in itself. For instance, Hosni Mubarak was jokingly called La Vach Qui Rit because of his resemblance to the company's logo. A very rare collection. B AH
