Historic Battles, by Belgian company Cox International and distributed in Canada. All 306 stickers are present, which is rare because producers usually restrict a few pieces in order to sell more packets to collectors trying desperately to complete their album. Covers 17 different battles, each spanning 2 pages. Produced in 5 different languages. Some of the historical inaccuracies and omissions are interesting. For instance, for the 1571 Battle of Lepanto, it says: In order to check the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Venice called upon the Pope and Spain for help. After setting up the Holy Alliance, the three Powers decided to build a joint Christian fleet. They sailed for Corfu, and on the morning of the 7th October 1571 they saw the Turkish fleet, which in the meantime, had concentrated at Lepanto in the Gulf of Corinth. It was a fierce, desperate fight between the two armies, a fight to the end, which was illuminated by a veritable inferno of flames. By four o’clock in the afternoon the Turks had been wiped out. BM
